November 19, 2020 at 9:00 AMHUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – On several occasions, the Hunterdon County Freeholder Board has stated its concerns over various executive orders and regulations imposed by New Jersey Gov.PhilMurphy in response to the pandemic.
But on Nov. 17, the board approved a resolution designed to support the self-regulation and restrictions businesses can decide on to protect themselves and customers while remaining in business and opposing “additional restrictions to be placed on businesses, particularly restaurants and other small retailers, which could result in their permanent closure, lead to greater economic harm, additional layoffs and the devastation of local downtowns for years to come,” the resolution said.
Just before the board unanimously voted to approve this resolution, Freeholder Director Shaun C. Van Doren commented on its premise.
